Definite one of the best Kanji books for beginners out there! Highly recommended Japanese from Zero series and this Kanji from Zero book for anyone who's just started learning Japanese。 Total of 254 kanji in this book and over 1000 vocabs related to those Kanji。 I learned them all just in this month! The book also has culture note and interesting facts about some kanji, which I think is extremely helpful。 Totally worth my 30 bucks (Kindle version is only $9 or sth) Definite one of the best Kanji books for beginners out there! Honestly I was a little afraid of kanji too, but now I having fun learning them with Kanji from Zero。This is a fantastic book and it has an integrated workbook so you can practice the kanji you learn。 Also it’s a great vocabulary builder, you not just learn 240 kanji, but with them and the compounds you learn 1500+ common, frequently used words。 Keep in mind, that this book is not using the JLPT level kanji order (maybe its cover the N5 level, I’m not sure)。 The book teaches the Kyouiku kanji, the list of kanji by school years。 So this is for learning Japanese not learning for the JLPT。 And you should already know hiragana and katakana to effectively study this book。All together, great book with clear explanations and exercises (comes with an answerkey), the 240 kanji divined into several lessons, so you don’t get overwhelmed。 It is fun and fowl to learn from this book。 Also there is the Japanese from Zero Youtube channel where the author talk you through the lessons (and its free!)。 So, again I highly recommend this book, and the other books in the Japanese from Zero series。 。。。more
